On September 27, in Lithuania, in the vicinity of Utena, a round of the Lithuanian Rally Championship started, which has also been included in the calendar of the Latvian Rally Championship. During the final part of the first day, during SS4 that was set-up in the streets of the city, a rally car of Latvian crew went off road, and into the spectators.

On behalf of Latvian rally family, I express my deepest condolences to the relatives of the fatally injured spectator, as well as wish a speedy recovery to everyone injured in this tragic accident.
