Rally Sarma 2019 will be held in the second weekend of February
The traditional and popular winter rally in the Baltic region, Rally Sarma 2019 will retain one-day rally format and bring athletes as well as spectators to the roads of Gulbene region on February 9, 2019. Organizer of the Rally Sarma "Gulbene AUTO – MOTO" created very interesting plan of special stages for 2019 in recent months. We are sure that competitors and spectators will like those special stages. Rally Sarma 2019 will be the second and final round of winter rally season of the Latvian and Estonian rally championships, and Latvian rallysprint championship and Historic rally cup.
The winners of the Rally Sarma 2019 will be cleared at four stages, each of which will be run twice. Thus, the total distance of the rally in the special stages will slightly exceed a hundred kilometres. Organiser "Gulbenes AUTO — MOTO" has considerably reviewed the choice of the special stages and has abandoned several regularly used roads, for example from the traditional Zakukajas. On the other hand, the programme includes the best “new” special stages of recent years, as well as a completely new special stage. One of the best news for the spectator is that significant jump will be on the route of Rally Sarma again after very long break. The plan for the rally is designed so that even the more lazy spectators will see four special stages, and the best ones - even six out of eight.
The organisers hope that in 2019 the number of participants will continue to grow and that more than eighty crews will enter the rally. At the same time, the organisers of the Rally Sarma, who have already introduced a number of technological innovations spectators and participants, continue to evaluate various new technologies and their suitability for rally in order to make a classic winter rally as the most technologically advanced one again. At this point, the organizers of the Rally Sarma are also open to cooperation with various technology and startup companies, because previous years proved that such a dynamic and people-attended sporting event is a great platform for testing various new technologies and solutions.
Like the previous two years, the opening of the rally at the Gulbene centre will take place on the night of February 8, at 19:00, and the first special stage will start at 10:00 A.M. on February 9. Expected that the final stage will end at around 18:30, followed by an award ceremony at 20:15 in the Gulbene Culture Centre.
